[He flips his shirt back over his shoulders to button it up again. Now that Rawne knows it's there, it's just barely possible to make it out under the sleeve.]

[He shifts a little, away from Tim and back. He's not sure how to talk about this stuff, sometimes.]

[To be fair, neither does Tim. But he's also a very good hypocrite, and it's always easier to help other people manage their feelings.

He's straightening himself up as he talks, tucking his shirt back in and fixing his belt so Rawne doesn't need to give him eye contact if he doesn't want.]

You haven't been back a month yet, and it's a new idea. Let yourself mull over it some, yeah? Pace yourself.

[Rawne straightens up himself, fixing the buttons on his shirt.]

Pace myself. Yeah. It's been... a lot.

[Some is enough. It makes Tim smile again, warm with an air of relief to it, and he puts a hand on Rawne's forearm again, to hold him lightly in place while he leans up to kiss his cheekbone.]

Well, make sure you use 'em. You're allowed to lean on people here, might as well make the most of it.

I know I should, it's just... I haven't had many people to lean on, for a while. And Gaunt died.

Look, I just. Need to let you know. I'm not going to be able to do... this with Norton anymore. The three of us.

[He's trying so hard not to be terse about it. It's literally got nothing to do with Rawne.]

I don't hate him, and I certainly haven't lost anything in you, I just- can't sleep with someone I can't trust. And I'm not going to ask you to-- to pick a side or anything. [With blatant derision at the frankly childish concept.] This is just something I have to do for my own well-being.

That's... I understand. I'm not cutting him off forever, but I might leave him to the pleasure of his own hand for a week or two.

I know why he didn't go to me, now that I'm a warden, but I'm sure he could have found a way out of this. He usually does.

Sorry. I'm just... I don't take well to people hurting mine. Martin's one of my best friend and he's one of the wardens in charge of the wardrobe.

I just... don't think Norton knows how to ask for help. I can't imagine he's ever been in a position where someone with power over him was benevolent until now.

No, I don't think he does. He's fine with manipulating people into helping, usually. Feth knows why this time's different.

[He's never been quiet about his training with Kiryu. He can hold his own well now.]

[He also trusts himself to not go too far. He can take a punch and not go into a rage. He's sure Tim needs it.]

[He just needs a minute to change into something more comfortable - which is mostly gym shorts and a comfortable t-shirt - and he takes a minute when he arrives to turn it into a short scrubland walk that leads to a fenced section of white-sanded beach; there's already a rope circle laid out for a ring, and the clear water laps quietly a short distance away. It's quite peaceful, and he's sure Kiryu won't mind him borrowing it.]

[Rawne shows up in more-or-less his usual black fatigues, he's just got a t-shirt on, too. He looks around as he enters. It's not really what he expected.]

This looks peaceful, for a fighting arena.

Definitely more peaceful than the gym.

[Mostly he just does not feel like dealing with Jacobi giving him shit about this whole affair.]

But no, this is where Kiryu and I usually train. I think it's near where he lived back on his world. [He kicks off his shoes as he talks.] It's a bit less painful when you get to have a soft landing.

[Rawne has to sit down to unlace his boots, but he does so quickly.]

Much less. You want to toss me around?

[He's fine if Tim does.]

[It's a little bit flirt, but it's mostly sincere. He wants actual resistance, he wants to fight, not just vent.]

Just try not to go for my face too much? Or I'll never hear the end of it.

[He stretches, showing off a little for Tim.]

[He lets himself enjoy the view, as he walks into the rope ring ahead of Rawne.]

On three's good. [And he'll drop into an easy, slightly lazy combat stance when Rawne steps in as well.] One, two...

[Rawne steps in just after him, sliding into his own combat stance.]

Three.

[And he aims a kick at Tim's shins.]

[He throws his weight back immediately to dodge the kick, and turns the shift of his weight forward into a short leap to try and bring an elbow slamming down into Rawne's head.]
