I am Major Elim Rawne, second in command of the Tanith First-and-Only. I fight at the side of Colonel-Commisar Ibram Gaunt, a braver, more honerable fething man than any I've known. Cross me and cross my straight silver.
(Rawne is from the book series Gaunt's Ghosts, a book series set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. He comes from between the tenth book, Only in Death, and the eleventh book, Blood Pact. He's a member of an Imperial Guard unit, who usually travel eternally between worlds, fighting battle after battle. Currently, they're in reserve on Balhaut.
He's not a very good or nice person, though he's nicer than he'd let on. Before he joined the Guard, he was a career criminal, and he spent a fair amount of the first 5-6 books hating his commander, Colonel-Commissar Gaunt. He's still an asshole, but an honorable one and his sharper personality edges have dulled somewhat. He's still a top soldier and officer, though.)
