[They glance at the bucket on the floor, and their head disappears from the frame for a moment while they search through the items the Flood has created. When they straighten, three bracelets are in their hand.] ::I have a few of those now.::

::How'd you get those? Did they just appear?::

::The Flood created them. As far as I can tell, they work. Do you want one back?::

[major_rawne]

::I... yes. Please.:: [He's kept the broken one as a memento of Quentin. To have a working one back... it would be even more of a memento.]

[A few minutes later, they knock on his door. One of the bracelets is around their wrist, another in the bag that holds their orb.]

[He opens the door to them and steps back, letting them inside.]

[They pull out the other bracelet and offer it to him.] ::We can, though you might sense my emotions more strongly or feel them like you would feel your own.:: [Their telepathic conversations have always been one-sided, but others’ emotions sometimes felt stronger when they were closer.]

::That might be worth it.:: [When he takes the bracelet, he feels a strange rush of nostalgia and happiness. At times like these, he really does miss Quentin.]

[Their chest feels warm, and their body seems to be lighter than usual. The lightness is Rawne’s, they think. A sense of disconnect accompanies it, the same way it would feel if they were in the Rift.

The warmth is theirs. Their emptiness hovers behind it, but the warmth belongs to them. They glance at the bracelet. Connected.]

::Your figurines seem harmless, at least, and possibly less revealing than others.:: [A lot of the objects are more metaphorical than literal.]

Yeah. They're connected to emotions. I think.

[A small Dreamwidth figure falls to the floor.]

[The lightness that they had sensed vanishes, and the warmth remains.] They all look angry. [The one on the floor looks like it wants to kill them.]

They look similar in real life. Most of them are Chaos creatures. For whatever reason.

::Internal chaos?:: [They decide to avoid spawning another cat. Some of the items they are producing have been useful, but the animals are not.]

::No. Chaos, the enemy. From home. Someone created toys out of them.:: [He's still annoyed by that.]

[They nod.] ::The Flood seems to only be creating smaller objects. That may be why.:: [A pause, and then,] ::“Someone?”::

::These things didn't come from nowhere. Someone must have made them, originally.::
