I can understand that. [He couldn't count the number of times he felt that way as an inmate, and some of those times knocked him flat, too.]

How do you feel now that it's all over? How do you feel about how Quill is being handled?

Yes she does. And I know that most wardens aren't going to do anything about it.

I think there's a certain value in revenge. [Which is why he didn't try to investigate if Pagan was planning something.] But around here I don't know how much good it does. How much change it can create.

You feel the score isn't even now? [Again, no judgment. The answer to this question is important.]

[He nods. He could leave it at that; no further vengeance, no further mess.

But he frowns. Goddammit.
]

I know that 'justice' doesn't always leave people feeling satisfied [Not that any justice has been served anyway] and God knows revenge doesn't always either, but this is bullshit. I'm sorry the system here can't do anything but this same cycle, over and over.

How would it have been handled where you're from?

What about a situation like with Quill? Would Norton have been involved with the judgment?

Plaintiff. But what about at sentencing? Would he have a say in her punishment?

That's how it is where I'm from, too. People may not always like the sentences but they do accept them. [Because they have to. So their lives go on, at least most of the time.]

I think for Pagan the revenge was because he knew nothing official would have been done. It's why I'm not surprised or...frankly even angry at what you two did.

What sentence would you have wanted for Quill, if the wardens had been involved?

It's what would have happened where I'm from.

But after speaking to her I'm convinced she will kill again. But the only sure way to get her off the ship is to get her graduated. We could keep her in Zero or confine her to her quarters, but come a breach or a flood it's likely she'd get out. Worse than before.

Yeah, I'm not sure I believe that. An adrenalin rush isn't a need. We can throw her in the Enclosure and let her draw blood there if it's real.

Have you heard of anyone taking her up on monthly blood letting?

I mainly want to monitor her willing victims, if there are any. See if she gains some kind of leverage over them, if there are side effects.
