[Rawne opens the door as soon as he hears Norton approach, and steps back.]

Hello, soldier. [He rests his hands on Rawne's chest and rises on his toes to give him a hello kiss.]

I'm afraid this is a business visit and not pleasure. Or at least business first, then maybe pleasure after.

[Rawne dips his head and kisses Norton, then steps back.]

Warden business?

Partly warden business, partly personal. It's about Avalon. I'm sure they've been keeping you busy lately.

[major_rawne]

[Why does everything lead to Avalon, these days?]

Yes, they are. What is it?

[pharadyne]

They frighten me. [Norton will just be blunt about it.] We've never actually interacted, but what I've seen and read frightens me. Do they have their powers?

[major_rawne]

[Rawne reaches out and squeezes Norton's arm.] No, they don't. Those got stripped away the first time they killed someone and I won't give them back until they show they won't just start murdering again if they have them.

[pharadyne]

Good. Hallucinations. Mind manipulation. I really hate those sorts of things. [His shoulders are a bit hunched and his fingers of each hand twitching against each other in nervous restlessness.]

[major_rawne]

As do I. [Rawne tugs at Norton's arm, trying to pull him over to his couch.] We've both got bad histories with that kind of thing. I'm hoping to stop them from using shit like that.

[pharadyne]

[Norton lets himself be steered to the couch and sits perched on the edge, knees together and hands on his lap.]

Do you know how they pick their targets?

[major_rawne]

[Rawne sits beside him, keeping close.]

They pick people who... who they think want to die. Or they did. I think, now, they're trying to connect to people by killing them. Which is a bad fucking idea.

[pharadyne]

Awful idea. They should try charvering people instead. Much more effective for creating social connections.

So long as they don't use any of those hallucinations and whatnot to do it. [He adds quickly and curls his hands into fists resting on his thighs.]

I'm not sure if I should suggest that, though it'd be easier.

They shouldn't be able to, but if you ever start experiencing strange things like that, come straight to me, I'll sort it out.
