Quentin does indeed turn up for their lunch, looking rattled- but unharmed. Just sort of two notches above the usual Quentin level of flustered.

[major_rawne]

Rawne's projecting an aura of his usual unaffeted calm, but he's definitely tense, too. "What happened?"

[magician_king]

"Someone noticed an inmate asking around about mind controlling drugs."

Says Quentin, dropping down into the seat opposite, letting out a long groan.

"It turned out to be pie in the sky, thank fuck, but- you know. Nothing's easy, here."

[major_rawne]

Rawne immediately tenses even further. "Mind control drugs? Here?"

[magician_king]

"No."

Says Quentin, with a wry smile.

"Absolutely, definitely, positively not. That is what I spent a crazy day yesterday helping people make sure of."

[major_rawne]

And he relaxes, sagging back in his chair like his strings have been cut.

"Holy Throne. I'm guessing Seed was the one trying to bring it in?"

[magician_king]

"Yes. But don't do anything to him- we had a huge behind the scenes dust up within the warden ranks about what to do about it, considering he hadn't done it yet- and if my inmate goes for his throat I'll lose a ton of credibility. I was on team 'overreact' versus team 'underreact,' so staying level headed about this is going to directly impact my ability to do it again if I have to."

Although, he pauses himself;

"I mean- never start shit with anyone please, but especially right now. I'm trusting you."

He rolls his eyes. "I don't even know who Seed is. I'm not going to go out beating people up. Just... I'm just going to be careful. I don't want that... not again."

[magician_king]

"Thank you. Sorry, I'm so fucking jumpy. Conflict stresses me out."

Good thing he works in a super contentious weird space prison.

"Anyways- how are you?"

[major_rawne]

He shrugs. "Not bad. I'm thinking of making an announcement soon, that I want to teach people how to fight."

[magician_king]

"There's always a certain amount of call for it, especially if you pitch it as a self-defence class for beginners."

Says Quentin, approvingly.

[major_rawne]

"That's what I'm thinking of," he says, "people are... well, there's been a lot of murders lately and maybe this'll cut down on those."

[magician_king]

"Let me know if there's anything at all I can do to help."

Says Quentin, loyally- he'll leave it in his hands, but he really hopes it happens.
